The physical contact in football demands that each player wears a full complement of protective equipment. Protective equipment is inspected and examined as required by the manufacturer to maintain all safety standards and warranties. The following equipment/apparel is loaned to you by the Bronco organization and must be returned at season end. It is expected that care of this equipment is given while in your possession. You may be charged for missing or damaged items beyond normal wear and tear as identified by the Equipment Manager.
We provide the following equipment:
· Helmet
· Chin Straps (we have limited stock, first come first served.) We recommend purchasing your own for use across seasons.
· Shoulder Pads
· Practice Pants and Practice Jersey
· Knee Pads (we have limited stock, first come first served.) We recommend purchasing your own. See girdle below
· Game Uniform – Pants, socks and belt-Players keep the socks...(If you choose, you can wear you own plain black intergrated pants)
You are responsible to provide:
· Teeth or Mouth Protection. A mouth guard must be worn at all practices and games. No clear or white mouth guards allowed.
· Shoes. Non-detachable rubber cleated shoes or athletic shoes are required. No metal or screw-in type cleats will be allowed.
· 5-Piece Girdle. A girdle with hip, tail and thigh pads should be purchased by you. Additionally, please consider purchasing a 7-piece girdle instead which will have knee pads in it as well
· Cup and Supporter. Shall be worn by all players at all practices and games. Please note that most 5 & 7-piece girdles will have a “pouch” for a cup so the actual supporter will not be required.
· In colder weather, your child should also wear a long sleeved thermal or insulated pull-over under his jersey.
Please contact the Equipment Manager directly with any questions relating to what may or may not be required for purchase by players BEFORE the first day of practice.
- Participants must never wear game uniforms to practice. These items are only to be worn at games. However, we do encourage participants to wear their game jersey to school on the Fridays prior to each game. We are proud of our Broncos and want them to display their pride and spirit in this way.
- Broncos are expected to display courteous and respectful behavior at all time but especially while in uniform. Inappropriate behavior may result in disciplinary action.
