Unit Directors Responsibilities
Maintain team notebook given to you at the beginning of the season. Keep book in alphabetical order and up to date. Team notebook must be present at all practices and games.
Attend all practices, games and meetings pertaining to league operations, as requested.
Take attendance at all practices and keep accurate records regarding attendance and tardy’s. (Form will be provided)
Keep accurate records regarding current physicals, birth certificates, contact information, and volunteer requirements. Update the board president with any changes or drops.
Serve as a source of communication between the Broncos league, the coaching staff and the parents. Be sure to avoid distributing incorrect information. Please remember that we strive to make sure all information to our Bronco families are equally the same, precisely at the same time. This cuts down on confusion among families who have kids on multiple squads.
Communicate with the Bronco time coordinator regarding those who do not meet their Bronco time requirements. Supply a list of those who have Bronco time duties for that upcoming Saturday game in your weekly note as a reminder for those families. The Bronco time coordinator will supply that information for you.
Collect any monies due for events/buttons etc needed during the football season.
Be available to receive parent complaints or concerns on behalf of the coaching staff and the league. If you are unable to settle the dispute/concern on your own, please follow these steps:
- Advise to wait 24 hours before making complaint or stating concern
- Address the complaint/concern
- Involve the coach
- Contact Bronco board
On game day- 60 minutes before game starts:
- Provide the announcer’s booth with a roster in jersey order
- Supply the opposing team with a copy of a roster complete with ALL pertinent information (a sample roster will be provided to use as a guide)- You may also give this to your color commissioner
- Must be present at weigh in with team notebook and ready to provide Birth Certificates.
Attend both Equipment hand out and hand in to assist with duties and it’s a great way to meet your team players. Keep accurate records of equipment handed out and returned. Note if equipment is deteriorated.
Turn in Unit Director’s team notebooks at the end of the season(intact)- along with any injury reports or documents from the season.
We know that your time is valuable and we appreciate you volunteering!
